I love this show and Iam, glad that was renewed for another year.This is by far one of the best,crime dramas I have ever watched.Gary Sinise is a great actor,whether it in movies or on TV. All of the cast is great,I never miss this show. I was not to happy when they moved it to Friday night at 9:oop.m.And now I just found out that this fall they are moving to 8:00 p.m. I really hate when they start moving shows around,because that means that one day;when your not looking the show gets canned. I like it a lot like other people; Iam glad that was not the case with this show.Because this is the best, crime drama on TV by far. That is my mom's take on the hit crime drama! I am also a fan , of the show and was pleased it was renewed another season! After fighting so hard to keep it on the air! Because it is one the crime dramas on TV next to Criminal Minds. To sum it up we love this show and give it an A+! Gary. Gary. Gary. If "Imposter" wasn't enough. You spent so much of your life working and slaving and you have the most respected theatre company in Chicago and you walk away from it to do pieces of crap like this? Every episode has parts that take place in Brooklyn so they can try to explain why it looks like Valencia. They need THREE story lines that end highly improbably just to keep it going. Eddie Cahill? He grew up in Westchester County, a spoiled brat who got in good with Kevin Williamson; nice friggin' accent. Funny enough the people actually from NYC are stressing their accents so much it only emphasizes the plastic backgrounds (and acting) and backlot sets. Kanakaredes, while looking a lot better, acts even worse than on the "Touched by Christian Theology" show or "Providential that it was Cancelled" or whatever. I keep expecting Sinise or her to projectile vomit on one of their one-liners "Another of those 'everything's connected' moments, huh? AAAaack!" Gary, go back. I don't care if you do Alan Ayckbourn plays ("aaack"), or play the Phantom in the Steppenwolf production of ALW, just get your humbled rump back to where you are doing something that isn't such an embarrassment, pronto. You always wanted to be a big bad movie and bad TV star instead of doing something meaningful, well you've had your shot to not make your mark. Thanks, babe, and, as your fellow ensemble member and Gary (Cole) might say in his capacity as Lumberg: super. While often the science and technology portrayed in this series (as well as the other CSI series) is accurate or mirrors sound scientific principle, there have been times when methods have led to results simply not possible in the real world. Also whilst the majority of the techniques and technologies used in the CSI franchise are accurate and true to reality, the writers and crew readily admit that they "time cheat". Tests that take seconds in the show often take days or even weeks in real life. Meanwhile the extreme popularity of the CSI TV franchise was credited for a large surge of applications for courses in forensic science, however many present day applicants are surprised to discover that the CSI's (or Crime Scene Annalists/Crime Scene Technicians, Scientific Investigators ect.) do not perform most of the tasks depicted on the CSI series. E.g. They do not interview suspects, they do not write or execute search warrants, and they do not make arrests. CSI's do not work the way the series portrays them as It would be considered an inappropriate and improbable practice to allow CSI personnel to be involved in detective work as it would compromise the impartiality of scientific evidence and would be impracticably time-consuming. In real life they are directed around the scenes by the detectives and supervisors, not the other way around. Detectives are commissioned police officers (sworn personnel). CSI's are civilian personnel, not sworn and do not have the same arrest powers as police officers. However they are very skilled technicians, and are a component of the police response to crime. American law allows for the 'false deception ploy' where the police can claim to have evidence (fingerprints, DNA, CCTV, witnesses) they do not in order to gain a confession, the idea being that any innocent person would know such evidence could not exist and see through it. This has become increasingly controversial however due to cases such as the Central Park 5 rape case in New York where the suspects were told their co-defendants were saying they were responsible so they accused them in turn only to be exonerated years later. No, they can enter in hot pursuit, to preserve life, to prevent imminent destruction of evidence or to search for a wanted felon. They need a search warrant for evidence when those elements do not apply.
